Seunghoon Yoo, a student in Professor Youngsu Cha's lab at Korea University School of Electrical Engineering, received the AMSM 2024 Student Award (Excellent) at the '7th International Conference on Active Materials and Soft Mechatronics (AMSM 2024)' held in Songdo International City from October 27 to 30. Yoo presented a paper titled 'Multi-Directional Bending Sensor Using Soft Origami Structure.'
AMSM is a conference focused on active materials and soft mechatronics, with presentations centered around advanced soft sensors and actuators, soft robotics and AI, and technologies for extreme and active material applications. Yoo received the Excellent Prize for his presentation on a multi-directional bending sensor module using a piezoelectric sensor and an origami structure.
Yoo expressed his gratitude, saying, "I am very happy and honored to receive a major award at an international conference for the first time. I would like to thank my supervisor, Professor Youngsu Cha, for his great support and invaluable guidance."
