Professor Myotaeg Lim of Korea University Appointed as the 31st President of the Institute of Control, Robotics and Systems (ICROS)

Professor Myotaeg Lim of the School of Electrical Engineering at Korea University has been appointed as the next president of the Institute of Control, Robotics and Systems (ICROS).


According to ICROS, Professor Lim will begin his one-year term as the 31st president of the institute on January 1, 2025.


Professor Lim earned his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Korea University in 1985, followed by a master’s degree in the same field from the university’s graduate school. He then received his Ph.D. in Electronic Engineering from Rutgers University in the United States, where he also worked as a postdoctoral researcher. After returning to Korea in 1994, he worked at Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology (SAIT) before joining the faculty at Korea University in 1996, where he continues to serve.


An expert in control theory and mathematical modeling, Professor Lim has held several leadership roles at ICROS, including Secretary General, Director of Planning, and Vice President for Academic Affairs. He also served as the General Chair of ICCAS 2015 (International Conference on Control, Automation and Systems).


The institute also announced that Professor Jun-Ho Oh, Professor Emeritus at KAIST and founder of Rainbow Robotics, has been elected as the 33rd president, set to take office in 2026.


Founded in 1994, ICROS is a multidisciplinary academic society dedicated to the fields of control, robotics, automation, and systems, with a current membership of approximately 7,800.
