The Korean Institute of Semiconductor Engineers announced on the 20th that the 22nd International SoC Design Conference (ISOCC 2025), co-hosted with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), was successfully held.

The conference took place from October 15 to 18 at the Paradise Hotel in Busan, bringing together researchers from academia and industry worldwide to share the latest trends and future directions in System-on-Chip (SoC) design.

This year’s theme was “Leading Heterogeneous Integration (HI) of SoCs for AI Smart Systems.” A total of 510 experts from universities, research institutes, and companies across 11 countries participated, presenting 221 papers.

In the keynote sessions, Myung-Jae Park, Vice President at SK hynix, delivered a lecture titled “Current Status and Future Challenges of HBM,” discussing the technical challenges and future outlook of High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) driving the AI era. Jung-Won Lee, Vice President at Samsung Electronics System LSI Division, presented the 6G communication technology roadmap in his talk “Towards 6G for a Hyperconnected World.”

Myung-Hoon Sunwoo, President of the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society (CASS) and Professor at Ajou University, introduced medical system innovations powered by AI. Albert Zeng, Director of the Cadence Software Engineering Group, explored the convergence of AI and design automation.

At the Women in Circuits and Systems (WiCAS) session, Soo-Jin Ahn, Vice President at Samsung Electronics, presented an industrial vision and eco-innovation strategy for sustainable semiconductor technology, drawing significant attention.

Yong Sin Kim, General Chair of ISOCC 2025 and Professor at the Korea University School of Electrical Engineering, remarked,

“ISOCC has established itself as one of the most highly recognized annual conferences in the SoC field. This year’s event once again showcased the latest innovations and trends in SoC design, thanks to the active participation of researchers from academia, industry, and research institutions around the world.”
