The research team from Prof. Choon ki Ahn’s laboratory in the Korea University School of Electrical Engineering achieved the remarkable accomplishment of winning three Best Paper Awards simultaneously at the 2025 IEEE Transportation Electrification Conference and Expo, Asia-Pacific (IEEE TEC-AP 2025), held from November 25 to 28 in Singapore.
The awarded papers are as follows:
An Electrified Multi-UAV-Based State Estimation for High-Precision Perception Tasks
(Sang Su Lee, Gwansoo Kim, Hyundeok Choi, Choon Ki Ahn)
Robust Localization of Electrified Drones via Dynamic Iterative-Finite Memory Estimation
(Dong Kyu Lee, Wonwoong Lee, Sunghyun Yoo, Choon Ki Ahn)
Performance Recovery Output Feedback-Based Multi-Loop Control for DC/DC Converters via Model-Free Filtering and PZC Techniques
(Kyun Ha Kim, Xu Chao, Seokkyun Kim, Choon Ki Ahn)
IEEE TEC-AP is a leading international conference organized by the IEEE, covering next-generation electrification technologies such as autonomous vehicles, drones, robotics, and motor control. Researchers from around the world participate annually. The Best Paper Award is the highest honor of the conference, recognizing excellence based on technical quality, academic contribution, and industrial impact. The awarded papers were highly praised for presenting key technologies in intelligent drone–based electrification and control systems.
Award recipient Dong Kyu Lee, an integrated M.S.–Ph.D. student, stated, “It is an honor to achieve such meaningful results at a world-class IEEE conference. I am grateful to Prof. Ahn and to all of my lab colleagues for their support. I will continue to advance research in electrified unmanned mobility systems and AI convergence technologies.”
This achievement reaffirms the international research competitiveness of Prof. Choon Ki Ahn’s laboratory in intelligent drone–based electrification systems and is expected to further elevate Korea University’s presence on the global academic stage.
