Professors Choon Ki Ahn and Joongheon Kim of Korea University School of Electrical Engineering Receive Seoktap Research Award

Professors Choon Ki Ahn and Joongheon Kim of the School of Electrical Engineering at Korea University have been selected as recipients of the 11th Seoktap Research Award for the 2026 academic year. The award ceremony is scheduled to take place on June 15.
The Seoktap Research Award was established in 2016 to recognize tenured faculty members who have made outstanding contributions to research excellence. This year’s recipients were selected based on a comprehensive evaluation of their research output and impact during the year 2025, including academic journal articles, scholarly monographs, and externally funded research projects.
Candidates were chosen from within the top 3% of each academic division, with evaluation criteria including publication quality and volume, indirect cost contributions from external research funding, publication in top-tier journals such as Nature, Science, and Cell, international research collaboration, and discipline-specific research funding performance across the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and medicine.
