Jae Hyeop Seong, a Ph.D. student, and Joo Ha Park, a Master's student, both from Professor Wonjae Shin's research lab in the School of Electrical Engineering, have been selected as recipients of the 'First Graduate Presidential Science Scholarship.'
The Ministry of Science and ICT launched the scholarship this year to identify potential master's and Ph.D. students in science and engineering, boost their morale, and support the growth of world-class research talent. This year, a total of 120 students were selected (50 master's students and 70 Ph.D. students), with a competitive ratio of about 25 to 1.
Selected scholars will receive a certificate of scholarship under the President's name and financial support starting this month. Master's students will receive 18 million KRW per year for up to 4 semesters (a total of 36 million KRW), while Ph.D. students will receive 24 million KRW per year for up to 8 semesters (a total of 96 million KRW).
